It’s the great chance to feel the life style in the old Japanese house.

It’s the great chance to feel the life style in the old Japanese house.

Hello, I’m an owner of Tea Ceremony Koto, a 1 minute walk from temple!

I’d like to introduce the beautiful Japanese house 3 doors next to us, “Kinkaku an”. They recently open their house to show the life style of Japanese house.

You can try Origami, and Sutra copying here. It’s just 500yen now.

And, I have to say it might be only the few month you can enter this beautiful house in this price. because………

Visiting the old Japanese house

金閣庵

Kinkaku-an is just 3 doors from us, Tea Ceremony Koto.

They display the old Japanese life style. Seeing them, even me, Japanese felt very relaxing.

If you are staying at the modern hotels in , it’s worth visiting!

Japanese iron kettle

There was a iron kettle entering the gate. A small Christmas displayed silently is really pretty.

金閣庵 灯り

I’m sorry I’m not good photographer, but the gentle light made me feel relaxing.

Origami & Sutra copying

写経

Origami is one of the popular activities for travelers.

Actually, we Tea Ceremony Koto also have the optional plan of Origami experience.

In Kinkaku-an, they also have the set of Origami and English recipe book.

Sutra copying is a little difficult, but they are preparing the small paper for the short experience. It doesn’t takes so long time before or after visiting Kinkakuji temple ().

囲碁

They also display a board of Igo game here. It reminds us the old Japanese life style.

By the way, why they are showing their beautiful house now?

Acrtually, they are waiting to open this house as the guest house if Kyoto city changes the law for hotels& guest houses next year.

I know AirBnB is very popular in the world, but not in Kyoto actually.

Personally, I think it’s disappointing that such a beautiful house like Kinkaku-an cannot be used as a Ryokan.

I’m sure they would be popular if the Kyoto city changes the law for guest house.

So, now it’s the great chance to see the beautiful Japanese house near Kinkakuji.

After visiting Kinkaku-an, please visit us to experience Tea Ceremony also.

We are open in the New Year’s week, too!
